right on the Snake river, Leading Edge Aviation LLC is a full service
aviation company from start to finish providing practical solutions for
your aviation needs. We have over 40 years of experience in the
helicopter industry working with private individuals, local, state and
federal governments, film producers, private enterprise, non-government
agencies, and others to acheive successful results in your operation.
Leading Edge Aviation LLC is owned and operated by Jim and Vicki Pope and is centered in the Lewiston/Clarkston Valley of Idaho and Washington. Leading Edge Aviation LLC is a certified Parts 133/135/137 and ACETA OAS approved Helicopter Company. Our facility is also home to an inland registered seaplane base and heliport (SKID ROW). We work in much of the western US doing general utility work, with our specialities being wildlife capture and agricultural operations. At our main base in the LC valley we operate Hiller Soloys, MD 500Ds, the UH-1H 703 huey, and Robinson R44 Raven II's.
We do capture and survey work for State and Federal agencies, as well as private industry and others. Our pilots and crews have been working together for years and are proficient with darting and net gunning operations. We pride ourselves in handling animals with the most care and efficiency to minimize stress. We can accomodate nearly all radio and tracking devices used today and have tracked thousands of animals. All of our aircraft have GPS capabilities and our pilots are familiar with a number of wildlife inventory techniques. We have a staff GIS manager able to customize your flight time to be the most produdctive when recording data. We are committed to providing the highest quality service and safety in the industry.
